2018
Jonathan Home has received an ERC Consolidator grant
Our Project: IONPEN entitled "Trapped-ion quantum information in 2-dimensional Penning trap arrays"
Jonathan Home was awarded the golden owl for exceptional teaching
The Owl is awarded by the VSETH, ETH Zurich’s students association, who are also the initiators of the award.
"Repeated multi-qubit readout and feedback with a mixed-species trapped-ion register" V. Negnevitsky et al. Nature (2019)
Quantum systems can be manipulated with extremely high, but not perfect precision. The TIQI group has now demonstrated how errors that occur during such operations can be monitored and corrected on the fly
The TIQI group was successful in obtaining funding from the European Flagship program in Quantum Technologies
Our project, AQTION (Advanced Quantum computing with Trapped IONs), aims to achieve scaled up quantum information processing in the ion trap setting.
Jonathan Home has received the American Physical Society's 2019 Rolf Landauer and Charles H. Bennett Award in Quantum Computing.
“For the development and demonstration of trapped-ion quantum computing protocols, including Bell state stabilization by feedback control in mixed-ion chains, and the encoding of logical quantum states in the ion motion.”
